Six Months Later: Cache Exchange Fund Performance Update
Cache was founded to help investors manage large stock positions and democratize the sophisticated investment products available to the ultra-wealthy for concentrated stock portfolios.
After more than two years of building in stealth, we launched Cache to the public in March 2024. We are heartened by the overwhelming investor demand for our products, as thousands of investors holding billions of dollars in large stock positions have found their way to Cache.
Our flagship product, the Cache Exchange Fund, continues to attract the most interest. Investor demand has been so high that we created two fund series - “Access” for Accredited Investors and “Select” for Qualified Purchasers. We’ve completed 12 closings across our three exchange funds and onboarded hundreds of millions in assets. We are thankful for the visionary early adopters who recognized what we’re building and adopted Cache for their financial journey.
Many investors are drawn to Cache for our unique and compelling value proposition, but they are apprehensive about participating before they see evidence that it works. Today, as we complete two full quarters on our first Cache Exchange Fund, we offer you a glimpse of the investor experience to reassure you about the robustness of our investment process. As private fund managers, we are not required to provide these updates publicly, but transparency is a core tenet at Cache.
To set the context, our exchange funds are benchmarked to the Nasdaq-100 index, aiming to deliver similar risk and return characteristics. These funds are formed by pooling stocks from a large number of investors. Each stock is carefully matched to a broader portfolio such that the resulting fund closely approximates the benchmark index, offering an investment experience similar to that of the Nasdaq-100.
So, how is the Cache Exchange Fund performing so far?
Cache Exchange Fund I Performance
Cache Exchange Fund I launched on March 8th, 2024 and finished onboarding by the end of Q2. Over the last seven months, the fund's performance has closely followed the performance of the Nasdaq-100 benchmark. In Q3, the most recent quarter, the performance was +0.12% compared to the Nasdaq-100, i.e., the fund returned +2.24% net of expenses, and the Nasdaq-100 returned +2.12%. We view this realized performance as indicating that our investment processes are working as designed.
“Select” for Qualified Purchasers takes off 🚀
Recently, we introduced a new product line called “Select” for Qualified Purchasers. This fund structure allows us to create a separate large fund that onboards new investors monthly, enabling us to offer increased allocations and faster diversification. Within two months, it has grown beyond $100M and is currently our largest exchange fund.
